VITRUAL REALITY is not a new concept. Like 3D, VR has come and gone depending on where the technology was at the time. Now with the advent of advanced VR headsets, the game has changed. High resolution immersive environments are now possible.
However one thing hasn't really changed this time around, haptics in VR are still the same as it was years ago. We knew we wanted to develop tools for VR, we have the skill sets to do it. Haptics is where we discovered the lack of new technology. We didn't want to just build an advanced version of what was already available, we wanted to change the game. Nanotechnology allows us to drastically change the game. It allows us to reach into a virtual world and grab a can of soda and feel the condensation, weight and temperature . This is where we innovate.

WATER FILTRATION
WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE A FILTER
The Earths fresh water supply is dwindling. By 2025 more than 1.5 billion people will be living with fresh water supply problems. Most of the current solutions to rectify the problem are too large, non-portable, and very expensive. The most widely used of these is desalination, which requires huge amounts of energy which increases the carbon footprint and is almost prohibitively expensive.
What if there's a solution that can filter potable, fresh water directly from contaminated or salt water sources conveniently, economically and at a rate capable of supporting an entire village? This new solution would require no power, no filter changes, and only basic cleaning of the collection surface. What’s more, in areas lacking direct water sources it would have the ability to collect water directly from the air. The technology is designed to collect and filter water at a rate more than triple that of other portable filtering technologies without limitation. It will also have the ability to scale from large filtration plants to devices as small as individual water bottles.

Nanotechnology is the study of phenomena and fine-tuning of materials at atomic, molecular and macromolecular scales, where properties differ significantly from those at a larger scale. Products based on nanotechnology are already in use and analysts expect markets to grow by hundreds of billions of dollars during this decade.
In our case, we wanted to solve the issue of usable haptics in Virtual Reality. We wanted to invent a technology that goes beyond the current vibration technology. We found that nanotechnology can solve this and many other issues that would make life simpler and tasks more efficient. We discovered that there is many discoveries in nanotechnology right now that we can take and commercialize for amazing solutions to today’s and tomorrow’s problems.
